A tournament and the rating are different things
A tournament placement doesn't change the rating: matches go into the rating only after the tournament ends.
A tournament placement and the TTAR rating are counted separately. The tournament determines the winner by its own scheme (bracket, round robin, groups), while the rating is changed only by the games played — under the same Elo rules as ordinary games.
Important
A tournament win by itself adds no rating. And vice versa: you can win a tournament and grow almost none if every match went to the expected score.
- The tournament is running — matches are recorded in the bracket and table, the rating does not change.
- The organizer finishes the tournament.
- The tournament's matches are registered as games, and the participants' ratings are recalculated.
That is why during a tournament no rating growth is visible in the profile: it appears after the organizer presses "Finish tournament".
