I won, so why did my rating drop?
The rating counts not only the win but the score: you must win convincingly enough for your level.
The rating is calculated not only from the fact of a win: the difference in the players' levels — and therefore the final score — matters a lot. It is not enough to just win; you must do it convincingly enough for your level.
Common mistake
If a master beats a beginner 3:1, a fair question arises: what kind of master is it who managed to lose one game out of four to a beginner?
